Suryaa News Desk: The Andhra Pradesh High Court has dismissed a petition filed by YSRCP leader Chevireddy Harith Reddy regarding the MPTC and ZPTC election process in Tirupati Rural mandal. The court refused to stay the counting of votes or order a re-poll.
In his lunch motion petition, Harith Reddy alleged that bogus voting and irregularities occurred at several polling stations in Tirupati Rural mandal. He requested the court to suspend the counting of votes until a re-poll was conducted.
Representing the State Election Commission (SEC), the counsel argued that the commission had not received any reports of irregularities from the District Collector or the Returning Officer. The SEC maintained that the elections were conducted properly.
After hearing both sides, the court noted that there was no primary evidence of irregularities and no report from the District Collector to support the allegations. Consequently, the court held that there were no grounds to stop the counting or order a re-poll and dismissed the petition. With this ruling, the counting of votes in Tirupati Rural will proceed as per the regulations.
