In an interview, she described the ordeal, which began with a marriage proposal, as being similar to a cinematic drama.
Poorna stated that a group of individuals from the same family used fake names and addresses to deceive them. She noted that police investigators were surprised to discover that one individual in the gang was capable of mimicking five different voices. It was later revealed that this group had targeted several other women under the guise of marriage proposals.
The actress shared that the extensive media coverage of the case caused her significant fear and anxiety at the time. She recalled that her heart would race whenever her name appeared on news channels. However, she expressed gratitude for the support received from the media and the investigating police officers during that period.
Poorna emphasized that her family’s decision to report the matter to the police helped put an end to the gang's activities. She advised the public to remain cautious and vigilant regarding fraudulent marriage proposals.
