Suryaa News Desk: Visakhapatnam city police have invoked the Preventive Detention (PD) Act against Chukka Rajesh Vinay Kumar, a resident of Gajuwaka, for his alleged involvement in recruiting youth for cyber scams in Cambodia. Police Commissioner Dr. Shankhabrata Bagchi issued the detention orders, citing the suspect's repeated involvement in cyber crimes and the threat posed to public financial security. Following the order, the accused was transferred to the Visakhapatnam Central Jail.

According to police, the accused operated an institute and acted as a primary agent, sending unemployed youth to Cambodia under the guise of providing computer data entry jobs. He allegedly collected Rs 2 lakh from each candidate. Upon arrival in Cambodia, the victims were reportedly forced to engage in cyber scams directed against India.

Investigations revealed that the accused facilitated these placements by booking flight tickets and arranging currency exchange using the collected funds. In some instances, agents based in Cambodia provided e-visas and tickets. The accused would then send the candidates to these agents, who allegedly sold the youth to companies involved in cyber scams.

The police registered a case and arrested the individual following complaints from victims who sought assistance from the cyber crime department. During questioning, the accused admitted to operating an institute to send youth abroad for employment.

Cyber crime police have issued an advisory urging youth to remain vigilant against such agents. Authorities have specifically warned against traveling to Southeast Asian countries, including Myanmar, Cambodia, Vietnam, and Laos, for employment involving activities against India. Police stated that legal action will be taken against those who participate in such scam-related jobs.
