Suryaa Sports Desk: Indian star batter Virat Kohli has achieved a new milestone in international cricket. During the ongoing first ODI against New Zealand in Auckland, Kohli became the first batter in the history of ODI cricket to complete 13,000 runs while batting at the number three position.

Entering the match, Kohli required only 12 runs to reach this milestone. By surpassing this mark, he has overtaken the previous record held by former Australian captain Ricky Ponting, who scored 12,662 runs while batting at number three. Kohli now holds the top position globally for runs scored at this batting spot.

Kohli holds the record for the most centuries and half-centuries scored while batting at the number three position. During the current match against New Zealand, he is contributing to the team's pursuit of the target set by the opposition.
