Suryaa Sports Desk: International Cricket Council takes strict action against Afghanistan wicket-keeper batsman Afsar Zazai for violating rules in international cricket... The International Cricket Council has taken strict action against Afghanistan wicketkeeper batsman Afsar Zazai for violating the rules in international cricket. He was formally reprimanded for breaching the code of conduct during the one-off Test match against Bangladesh in Abu Dhabi and added a demerit point to his disciplinary record. The ICC has clarified that the main reason for the action was disobeying the orders of the umpires on the field and delaying the game. In this crucial match against Bangladesh, Afsar acted as the twelfth player for the team. Even though the umpires warned him several times not to enter the field and delay the game, he ignored it.
At one stage, the field umpires took the matter seriously and filed an official complaint with the ICC as they entered the field without taking any permission from the umpires. It was concluded that disobeying the orders of umpires in international matches is against the provisions of the code of conduct. Known as a right-handed wicket-keeper batsman, Afsar Zazai has represented Afghanistan in all major formats. He also participated in the first Test match against India in the second year. He has played ten Tests in international cricket so far and has scored three hundred and seventy eight runs, including a century. Also, he showed his batting talent in seventeen ODIs and eight T20 international matches.
If this is the case, this only Test match between the two teams at the Abu Dhabi venue ended in a draw without any result. In the first innings Bangladesh scored 346 runs while Afghanistan scored 240 runs. Then in the second innings, Bangladesh scored three hundred and seventy two runs, while the Afghanistan team scored three hundred and forty six runs and successfully avoided defeat. The tenacity shown by the Afghan players in the run-up to the match impressed the sports fans. Also Read: Amazing talent in World Skate Games.. Charitasree team won bronze medal!
