Dangerous developments are taking place in the global climate. The United Nations Meteorological Organization (WMO) has expressed concern that the concentration of greenhouse emissions in the Earth's atmosphere has reached an all-time high.
It has been warned that there is a risk of further increase in emissions due to the possibility of El Nino effect intensifying in the coming period, which will take the global temperatures to dangerous levels. Recent reports have made it clear that the policies being followed by countries around the world in controlling industrialization and carbon emissions are not yielding the desired results. Scientists are deeply concerned about the rapid increase in the amount of dangerous gases like carbon dioxide, methane and nitrous oxide in the atmosphere. Due to these climate changes, the threat of extreme droughts, heavy rains and unpredictable storms haunts humanity.
The UN has made it clear that global countries urgently need to implement strict carbon emission reduction measures to protect the Earth from the devastating effects of climate change. Experts are calling for steps towards renewable energy sources and not just limited to words, and for all countries to fight together for environmental protection.
