A mega movie titled 'Puratchitaliver MGR' is being made based on the life of former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and late film actor MG Ramachandran. Director-producer-actor JM Basheer has revealed that he is approaching popular actress Trisha Krishnan for the role of late Jayalalithaa in the film.
He said that while JM Basheer himself will play the role of MGR in the film, he feels that Trisha will play the pivotal role of Jayalalithaa. The film revolves around many important moments like MGR's childhood, film career and political career. His special bond with Jayalalitha and his political journey will be a key part of the film. Trisha is currently acting in a film with Basheer's daughter and the makers are of the opinion that she is perfect for the role.
However, no official statement has come out from Trisha's side. The biopic will also have the roles of other prominent leaders like Annadurai and Karunanidhi. The shooting of this film will start soon in Ramapuram, Chennai. There is an interesting discussion in Tamil film circles that if Trisha agrees to this project, Jayalalitha's role will be a milestone in her acting career.
