Suryaa News Desk: Severe tension and chaos prevailed in Marutla village of Kudair mandal in Anantapur district during the polling for local body elections. YSRCP cadre and local residents leveled serious allegations that ruling TDP leaders were indulging in massive rigging at the village polling station.
Following the allegations, enraged villagers and YSRCP workers barged into the polling booth, forcibly carried out the ballot box, and smashed it with stones. They then tore the cast ballot papers found inside and scattered them outside, heightening the tension.
Locals also obstructed the Kudair Circle Inspector and police personnel who arrived to control the situation. This led to a heated argument and jostling between the police and YSRCP workers. With conditions turning increasingly tense at the polling center, officials halted the voting process and deployed additional forces.
