The Sri Lankan cricket team impressed with a brilliant all-round performance in the crucial match as part of the tri-series ODI. In the league match against Pakistan, Asantham dominated the Lankan team, beating the opposition by eight wickets. With this one-sided win, the Sri Lankan team proudly reached the tri-series final. The Lankan players once again showed their mettle in this tournament by smashing the small target set by the opponent very easily. The Sri Lankan bowlers, who won the toss and chose to bowl first, put the opposing batsmen under severe pressure from the start of the match.
Lankan bowling sensation Dilshan Madhushanka produced a career-best performance with a five-wicket haul. Pakistan's batting order was turned upside down as his fellow bowlers took wickets with tight line and length. Pakistan's batsmen, who could not settle at any stage, were bowled out for just 110 runs and were deeply disappointed. The Sri Lankan openers gave the team a good start as they came into the ring with a small target of 111 runs set by Pakistan. They played with discipline without any confusion and took fast steps towards victory. They hit the target easily in just 18 overs losing only two wickets. While Kamindu Mendis led the team to victory with his responsible batting, Lanka's victory was facilitated by the team effort shown in the bowling and batting departments.
The Sri Lankan team qualified for the final match with this great victory over Pakistan, and these two teams will meet once again in the final match of this tournament. The final match will decide who will win the tri-series trophy. While Pakistan are looking to recover from their bowling mistakes, Sri Lanka are determined to continue their form and become champions.
