The Garudatsavam held in Tirumala every month on the occasion of the full moon or certain festivals was celebrated with great grandeur. Famous Nandamuri family members from the Telugu film industry specially participated in this spiritual ceremony and dedicated themselves to Srivari Seva. Nandamuri Mohana Krishna, Nandamuri Seema, Nandamuri Rupa and other famous producer Tummala Prasanna Kumar visited Tirumala Srivara and performed special pooja.
During the Garuda Vahana Seva, after offering harati to the Lord with devotion, the family members of Nandamuri surprised everyone by enthusiastically playing Kolatam along with the local artistes. Devotees were impressed by the way they buzzed with common people and artistes without any tension of celebrities. Pilgrims and locals who came to Tirumala gathered in large numbers to witness this rare sight and captured these memories on their mobile phones. At the end of the Kolata celebrations, the Nandamuri family members went to a small local hotel where they had a very enjoyable breakfast (tiffin) with NTR Raju, Sridhar Varma and the common people. The way they sat and talked in a roadside hotel with common devotees left a lasting impression on the locals. On this occasion, many fans showed interest in talking to them and they greeted them warmly.
Speaking to the media on this occasion, Nandamuri Mohana Krishna recalled his family's infinite devotion to Tirumala Srivari and this holy place. They said that in the past they have donated to the Srivari Annadana Trust and now they feel it is a God-given opportunity to directly participate in this mahotsavam. An emotional Nandamuri said that participating in the ceremony along with the locals and artists on the Tirumala soil gave them indescribable joy and complete emotional satisfaction.
