Suryaa Telangana Desk: District SP Dr. Sangram Singh G Patil presented a cheque worth ₹1 crore to the family of Armed Reserve constable Raju at the District Police Office on Friday. The amount was provided by the State Bank of India under the police salary package insurance scheme.
Constable Raju died after being struck by lightning last August while returning to Nagarkurnool after completing security duties for the Chief Minister in Kollapur. As the constable held a police salary package account with the State Bank of India, the bank sanctioned the compensation in accordance with insurance policy terms.
During the event, the District SP stated that the loss of the constable is irreparable and the police department will support the family. He noted that the compensation provided through the SBI police salary package would offer financial assistance to the family. He further advised all staff members to opt for the police salary package and health insurance.
District Police Office AO Krishnaiah, RI Raghavarao, RSI Ghouse Pasha, District Police Coordinator Srinivas, and representatives from the State Bank of India were present at the event.
