Suryaa Entertainment Desk: Actress Regina Cassandra has responded to controversial remarks made by some North Indian actresses regarding the South Indian film industry, specifically Tollywood. Regina stated that if an actor has objections to a role or the working environment during a project, they have the freedom to withdraw from the project. She noted that it is inappropriate to enjoy the facilities provided during a production and then criticize the industry later.
Regina expressed concern that dividing the film industry into North and South creates unnecessary regional friction. She emphasized that actors are not forced to work and have the option to leave during filming if they are dissatisfied.
Referencing her own experience, Regina noted that during the promotions of the Hindi film 'Kesari 2', she felt ignored by Dharma Productions. She pointed out that despite playing a key role, she was not tagged in social media posts regarding the film's songs. She questioned what the reaction would be if she were to criticize the behavior of North Indian directors in a similar manner.
Regina asserted that it is not reasonable to categorize the film industry by region. She stated that criticizing the industry, which provides employment and recognition to actors, serves no purpose. She concluded that the film industry should be viewed solely as an art form.
