Ramayana Fails to Surpass Adipurush Opening Day Collections

Suryaa Entertainment Desk: The film Ramayana, directed by Nitesh Tiwari and starring Ranbir Kapoor as Rama and Yash as Ravana, has recorded lower-than-expected opening day box office collections. Despite a wide release across thousands of screens nationwide and international distribution through Sony Pictures, the film earned approximately 65 crore rupees net in the domestic market on its first day, with the Hindi version contributing the majority of the revenue.

The film failed to surpass the opening day record set by Prabhas' Adipurush, which earned over 86 crore rupees net three years ago. Trade analysts attribute the difference in performance to the significant fan following and advance bookings Prabhas commanded, particularly in the Telugu states, which the new release did not replicate. While the film received positive reviews on its first day, analysts suggest a lack of effective marketing strategy hindered its ability to break records. Industry observers note that the film's financial success will now depend on performance during the upcoming festival weekend.
