Surya News : Madhira Swimmers Association President Janga Narasimha Reddy has handed over a petition to Tehsildar Rambabu asking to control the rising prices of rice in Madhira town and to make quality rice available to the common and middle class people at reasonable prices and at the same time to take steps to ensure that the farmers get the benefit when the price of grain increases.
The representatives of the association stated that while the farmers should get a better price for their hard-earned grain, the farmers are not getting the expected profit due to middlemen and on the other hand consumers have to buy rice at high prices. He urged the authorities to take balanced measures so that rice prices do not become a burden on the common people, besides providing justice to the farmers due to the increase in grain prices. He appealed to conduct a comprehensive inquiry into the reasons for the rise in rice prices in Madhira and surrounding areas and examine whether there are actions like illegal stockpiling, creation of artificial scarcity, black marketing etc. The benefit of the increased prices should go to the farmers.
Madhira Swimmers Association appealed to the authorities to pay special attention to farmers and consumers with the aim of providing quality rice at affordable prices to the common man.
