Suryaa Sports Desk: No one can replace star all-rounder Hardik Pandya in the Indian cricket team, says former legend Sunil... Former legend Sunil Gavaskar has made it clear that no one can replace star all-rounder Hardik Pandya in the Indian cricket team. He suggested to the Team India management that no matter where you look in the country, you will not find a match-winning all-rounder like Hardik. Gavaskar's comments to go ahead with clear strategies on the composition of the team and make good use of the available resources have become a hot topic of discussion in the cricket circles.
Gavaskar felt that the search for a player to replace the talented Hardik Pandya would not be fruitful. Instead, it is better to encourage talented players like Akshar Patel and Naman Dhir who are available in the team, he said. He advised the management to focus on keeping the team balanced with four specialist bowlers and one or two all-rounder options. Gavaskar gave several important suggestions to the Indian team preparing for the tour of New Zealand.
He warned that fielding is crucial on Kiwi soil and even a small mistake can change the outcome of the match. Gavaskar made it clear that better results can be achieved only if the bowlers come to the ring with a well-planned bowling plan to suit the weather conditions.
