Nutritional Benefits and Consumption Guidelines for Peanuts

✍️ Suryaa Now Reporter • 📅 Thursday, 05 November 2026 12:25 AM

Suryaa Health Desk: Known as the poor man's almond in India, peanuts are recognized as a source of nutrients. Nutrition experts state that peanuts have long been a part of dietary habits and play a role in providing energy to the body.

One hundred grams of peanuts contain approximately twenty-five to twenty-six grams of protein. They also provide healthy fats, fiber, vitamin E, magnesium, and antioxidants. These components contribute to muscle strength and immune system support.

Experts advise consuming peanuts in limited quantities due to their high calorie and fat content. While eating a handful of peanuts daily is beneficial, exceeding this amount may lead to weight gain. It is recommended to choose raw, boiled, or dry-roasted peanuts rather than those that are salted or fried in oil. Individuals without existing health issues can include moderate amounts of peanuts in their diet to support heart health and energy levels.
