Due to the changing modern lifestyle… Indian cricket legend, former captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni gave some valuable advice to today's youth. The youth of the Gen Z and Gen Alpha generations, who are neglecting fitness due to the changing modern lifestyle, have been called upon to pay special attention to their health from now on. Speaking at a special program with noted writer Javed Akhtar, Dhoni clarified that reducing physical activity in daily tasks and sitting for hours will lead to serious negative results in the future. He believes that fitness should be a part of life from childhood to avoid suffering from health problems after the age of thirty. Dhoni expressed his concern that the movement of people has reduced to a great extent due to the increase in technology and facilities compared to the past.
He reminded that in the past, many people used to walk for daily needs, but now it has become common to depend on vehicles for everything from home to office. He said that sitting for hours and working in one place and consuming processed food items, fast food and drinks with high sugars are causing serious damage to the body. He warned that if you do not exercise regularly, you will have to face many physical and mental problems at a young age. Dhoni suggested that everyone should incorporate some form of physical activity into their daily routine. He said that it is very good to make habits like playing games, cycling, swimming or at least walking for some time a day. It was explained that the body cooperates even if there is no physical activity at a young age, but as the age increases, the effect of neglect is revealed.
Dhoni advised the youth that it is better to maintain physical fitness as a preventive measure rather than running for treatment after the onset of health problems. Even according to the World Health Organization reports, experts make it clear that children and teenagers should have some physical activity for at least sixty minutes a day. Adults should also do moderate aerobic exercise at least two days a week, along with muscle-strengthening exercises. This valuable message given by Dhoni has gone viral on social media and sports and health experts are of the view that it will help in developing health consciousness among the youth who are constantly confined in front of devices for hours in today's digital age.
