Suryaa Sports Desk: Indian fast bowler Mohammed Shami has announced his retirement from international Test cricket. He shared the decision on social media on the same day he made his Test debut thirteen years ago. While stepping away from red-ball cricket, Shami stated that the memories associated with the format will remain with him. He confirmed that he will continue to play in limited-overs formats, including ODIs and T20 cricket.

Shami represented India in 64 Test matches, taking 229 wickets, including six five-wicket hauls. He was noted for his seam position and reverse swing skills, playing a key role in several of India's historic Test victories, particularly during overseas tours.

In his announcement, Shami thanked the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), the Cricket Association of Bengal, his teammates, coaches, family, and fans. He credited the support of his fans for helping him return to the field during times of injury and setbacks. Shami expressed his intention to continue playing in the Ranji Trophy, the IPL, and other domestic white-ball tournaments, where he aims to mentor young players.
