Suryaa Telangana Desk: Former minister and BJP National Council member Marri Shashidhar Reddy expressed concern over severe drainage and contaminated water issues in the Sanath Nagar constituency. He met with Jalamandali Managing Director Ashok Reddy at the head office in Khairatabad and submitted a representation regarding the problems faced by residents in various divisions.
Shashidhar Reddy demanded the immediate completion of long-pending drainage works at Vivekananda Street in the Ramgopalpet division. He informed the MD that roads in Rangrez Bazar were laid before drainage works were completed, leading to recurring leakages. He also highlighted issues in Maclean Guda, where sewage flows onto the roads and contaminates the drinking water supply.
Additionally, he suggested that sewage from the Cantonment area should be diverted to the Picket Nala instead of the Khasiguda Nala. He urged Jalamandali officials to resolve these issues on a priority basis in the interest of public health. BJP leaders Nemali Anand, Sandeep Varma, V. Dayanand Rao, Srinivas Yadav, Kiran, B. Vikas, and K. Naresh were present during the meeting.
