Suryaa National Desk: A local holiday has been declared in the Thiruvalla taluk of Pathanamthitta district, Kerala, on Monday, November 2, in view of the Parumala Perunnal. The District Collector announced the holiday, which applies to all government offices and educational institutions, ranging from Anganwadi centers to professional colleges.

The annual spiritual festival, held at the Parumala Church, commemorates Saint Gregorios Mar Gregorios. The event attracts devotees from across Kerala and other regions. This year, the festival is being held from October 26 to November 2, with the main commemorative day taking place on November 2.

Authorities have focused on security and traffic control due to the expected influx of devotees. While government offices and educational institutions will remain closed, students are advised to verify with relevant authorities regarding whether the holiday applies to previously scheduled examinations.
