Surya Defense & National Desk, New Delhi: The joint military exercise 'Mountain Guardian 2026' between the armies of India and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has been successfully conducted at the Chowbatia Foreign Training Node in Uttarakhand. These bilateral military exercises started on October 5 and continued for about fourteen days.
The main objective of these joint exercises is to enhance mutual understanding between the armies of the two countries, interoperability of joint operations and overcome the challenges faced in the mountainous terrain. A total of 92 military personnel participated in these exercises with equal representation from the armies of both the countries. During this fortnight, the soldiers successfully completed rigorous military procedures such as joint planning, field tactical drills, advanced firing practice, deployment of surveillance systems, drone operations, physical endurance training, rock climbing and obstacle overcoming training.
The two sides shared experiences of coordinating counter-terrorism operations in impenetrable high mountain areas. The 'Mountain Guardian' exercise further strengthened the professional bond between the armed forces of the two countries as defense cooperation emerged as the most important pillar of the India-UAE comprehensive strategic partnership. The Defense Ministry of India said that these annual exercises have helped to enhance mutual cooperation in West Asia and Indian Ocean security, and take the friendship and trust between the armed forces of the two countries to new heights.
