Suryaa National Desk: The Indian Air Force (IAF) has achieved a milestone in border security in Ladakh. The IAF successfully landed a Russian-made IL-76MD strategic transport aircraft at the Nyoma airbase, located 13,000 feet above sea level and 25 kilometers from the Line of Actual Control (LAC).
This marks the first time globally that this type of heavy aircraft has landed on a runway at such an extreme altitude. This achievement highlights India's strategic airlift capability to rapidly transport large numbers of military troops and equipment to critical border areas. The landing strengthens the Air Force's military capacity to address challenges along the border with China.
