The weather department has issued severe warnings for eight districts, including Thanjavur, Tiruvarur, Nagapattinam, Mayiladuthurai, Pudukkottai, Ramanathapuram, Thoothukudi, and Kanyakumari. These areas are expected to experience heavy to very heavy rainfall, accompanied by thunderstorms, lightning, and wind speeds ranging from 30 to 40 kilometers per hour.

Moderate rainfall is expected in the coastal districts of Chennai, Tiruvallur, Kanchipuram, Chengalpattu, Villupuram, Cuddalore, and Kallakurichi, as well as the interior districts of Tiruchirappalli, Ariyalur, Perambalur, Erode, Madurai, Dindigul, and Tenkasi, along with the Union Territory of Puducherry.

Local authorities have initiated precautionary measures to manage potential disruptions to daily life, including alerting residents in low-lying areas and preparing emergency response teams. Farmers have been advised to protect their agricultural produce, and the public has been encouraged to postpone non-essential travel until weather conditions stabilize.
