Suryaa News Desk: The electoral fate of candidates contesting for the ZPTC seat and 21 MPTC seats in Poosapatirega will be determined today.
For the ZPTC seat, the alliance candidate Kotla Revathi is competing against YSRCP candidate Mahanti Siva. Pasupuleti Lalitha Kala is also in the fray as a TDP rebel candidate after her husband, Pasupuleti Gopi, did not receive the ZPTC ticket. Campaigning for the alliance candidate Kotla Revathi was conducted by her husband, Janasena leader Kotla Raghu, and former MLA Baddukonda Appala Naidu, who recently joined TDP from YSRCP. Conversely, Mahanti Siva received campaign support from Lakshmana Rao and his son Chaitanya. Due to the presence of the rebel candidate, both the alliance and YSRCP are anticipating how the split in votes will affect their chances.
Regarding the MPTC elections, a lack of coordination within the alliance has led to several rebel candidates from both parties entering the race. YSRCP leaders expressed confidence in their candidates, while TDP leaders believe their historical strength in the region will secure the MPP seat for the alliance.
Voter confusion has arisen in the Rellivalasa-2 and Vempadam MPTC constituencies, where both Janasena and TDP issued B-forms for the alliance. In the Pasupam MPTC constituency, YSRCP mandal president Pativada Appala Naidu is contesting the unreserved seat, facing YSRCP rebel candidate Paidi and alliance candidate Duvva Appala Swamy. Similarly, in the Kandivalasa constituency, a three-way contest has emerged between the YSRCP candidate, alliance candidate Lakshmi Parvathi, and rebel candidate Rajeshwari, who entered the race after her husband, Kuni Setti Govinda, was denied a ticket.
The final outcome remains uncertain, with questions remaining over whether the alliance's internal disputes will benefit YSRCP or if the alliance will secure the MPP seat through the support of independent candidates.
