The CM made it clear that restoration of power supply and repairs of damaged roads should be completed on a war footing and the officials of all departments should work in coordination to ensure that the people get immediate relief measures. The Chief Minister inquired about the situation at the field level in a high-level review meeting with the officials regarding the huge damage caused in several districts of the state due to the cyclone. Although the restoration works have already been completed in majority of the affected areas, traffic has been ordered to be restored immediately in the rest of the areas as well. The officials were asked to assess the damage to agricultural and horticultural crops as soon as possible.
At a time when the flood water is receding, it is suggested to prepare a comprehensive report on the damage done in the crop fields. The CM expressed his concern that the rice farmers have suffered a lot due to the typhoon inundating rice and other crops in many districts when they were at the crucial stage of coating. The officials were also directed to ensure that every eligible farmer gets adequate government subsidies, taking special consideration of the damage caused to horticultural crops. Chief Minister Chandrababu has made it clear that the government machinery should be constantly alert and provide all kinds of facilities to the victims so that the normal life of the people will not be affected soon.
