Suryaa Entertainment Desk: As the mythological film Ramayana gains attention at the box office, discussions have emerged regarding action sequences featuring the character of Sita, played by Sai Pallavi. Social media users have expressed varying opinions on scenes depicting Sita engaging in combat or wielding weapons.
Dipika Chikhlia, who gained recognition for portraying Sita in Ramanand Sagar’s television series, addressed the topic in a recent interview. She stated that she viewed a video clip of the action scene on social media. Chikhlia noted that she does not recall Sita participating in direct action sequences in the Valmiki Ramayana or the Tulsidas Ramayana.
However, she acknowledged that there are over three hundred versions and texts of the Ramayana in India, each with slightly different narratives. She suggested that the filmmakers may have based these scenes on a different version of the epic. Chikhlia added that she has not yet seen the full film but intends to watch it in a theater soon.
Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, the film features Ranbir Kapoor as Rama and Yash as Ravana. While some viewers have raised objections to the portrayal of Sita from a new perspective, others have expressed support for the director's creative choices. Film analysts observe that discussions regarding the depiction of mythological characters are common, and the visual presentation of this production has attracted significant audience interest.
