Suryaa National Desk: Delhi Traffic Police have issued an official advisory announcing strict traffic restrictions around the Indira Gandhi Stadium in New Delhi due to a special event organized under the auspices of the Sports Authority of India (SAI). Vehicular movement will be regulated and diverted on major routes surrounding the stadium between 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM. Authorities have advised commuters to choose suitable alternative routes to avoid inconvenience during this timeframe.

The traffic restrictions will significantly impact several key stretches, including Secretariat Road, Velodrome Road, Bahadur Shah Zafar Marg, Jawaharlal Nehru (JLN) Marg, Ring Road (Mahatma Gandhi Marg), IP Marg, and Vikas Marg. Heavy congestion is expected along these routes during the evening hours. Police noted that traffic controls will also be in place on the Ring Road between Shantivan Crossing and Bhairon Marg Crossing, Salimgarh Bypass, from W-Point to Delhi Gate, and on Power House Road leading from Rajghat towards Kishan Ghat.

As part of these special arrangements, parking has been completely prohibited on the specified roads during the designated hours. Traffic police have requested passengers traveling to the airport and railway stations to plan ahead and allocate extra travel time due to the expected congestion. Citizens commuting across the city have been urged to follow police directions and utilize alternative routes.
