Suryaa Telangana Desk: Telangana Chief Electoral Officer C. Sudarshan Reddy has instructed district collectors to ensure that the Special Intensive Revision (SIR-2026) of the electoral rolls is completed transparently and strictly in accordance with Election Commission guidelines. The Chief Electoral Officer conducted a video conference from Hyderabad on Monday with district collectors, district election officers, and relevant officials to review the progress of the SIR-2026 process, pending issues, and preparations for the publication of the final voter list. Medak District Collector Pratima Singh participated in the video conference from the District Integrated Office Complex (IDOC).
During the meeting, C. Sudarshan Reddy directed officials to thoroughly verify the details of voters in the Absent, Shifted, and Dead (ASD) lists at the field level. He emphasized that details regarding absent, shifted, deceased, and duplicate voters must be verified with supporting evidence. He stated that precautions must be taken to ensure no eligible voter's name is removed without proper investigation. For every name on the deletion list, officials must record the reasons for removal and the corresponding evidence. Objections, explanations, and documents submitted by voters must be considered in line with Election Commission rules.
Officials were instructed to continuously review the status of applications received via Form-6 (new registration), Form-7 (objections/deletions), and Form-8 (address changes/corrections). All applications must be processed within the stipulated timeframe. For every decision made regarding additions, deletions, or modifications, officials must issue speaking orders providing clear reasons. Records, including notices, inquiry reports, and submitted evidence, must be systematically maintained for future reference.
Every voter issued a notice must be given an opportunity to respond and present their case. Field inquiries must be conducted responsibly, adhering to Election Commission guidelines at every stage. Before the final publication, all details must be reviewed to ensure every eligible voter is included.
In light of the revised schedule announced by the Election Commission of India, the process of issuing notices, conducting inquiries, and resolving claims and objections must be completed by November 26, 2026. The final voter list is scheduled for publication on November 30, 2026. Officials from the district election department and relevant staff participated in the video conference.
