Garugbilli, Surya: Prohibition and Excise officials on Friday bound over 14 old defendants who were caught in illegal liquor cases as part of Local Bodies Election Code at Mandal Tehsildar P Bala. Sitanagaram Prohibition Excise Inspector D Padmavathi said that many of the villages belonging to Garugbilli mandal have been caught in illegal liquor cases. It is said that 14 accused arrested in these illegal liquor cases were bound over at Garugilli Mandal Tehsildar Pamu Bala.
Prohibition and Excise Inspector D Padmavati said that if the defendants who are caught in illegal liquor cases again within one year, they will be fined one lakh rupees and imprisoned for one year. If anyone in the villages under the Mandals is operating liquor shops illegally, they should inform the Excise officials. Prohibition and Excise Inspector D Padmavati warned on the occasion that strict action will be taken against the culprits. He said that appropriate action will be taken against those who sell illegal liquor in the villages.
He said that the details of the people who have illegally sold liquor in the villages should be reported to the excise officials and the details of those who gave information will be kept confidential.
