BC Partners in Talks to Acquire Stake in LIV Golf League

Suryaa Sports Desk: London-based private equity firm BC Partners has initiated efforts to take over the management of the LIV Golf league. This development follows the withdrawal of financial support from Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund (PIF), which has left the future of the tournament uncertain.

According to a Financial Times report, BC Partners is currently in negotiations to purchase approximately 50 million dollars in debt as part of a process to manage the league's insolvency proceedings. While the Saudi sovereign wealth fund has invested over five billion dollars into the league to date, it has stepped back from funding future seasons.

Organizers are now looking to revive the tournament, which is currently under insolvency protection, through a private equity partnership. BC Partners is reportedly developing a strategy focused on securing player support and establishing the league's profitability. If the deal is finalized, it could lead to significant changes in the management style and business model of LIV Golf.
