Allegations of Illegal Plotting on Government Land in Gowdavalli

Suryaa Telangana Desk: Allegations have surfaced regarding the illegal plotting and sale of government land in Gowdavalli village, located within the Gundlapochampally division of Medchal-Malkajgiri district. It is alleged that approximately one acre of land classified as lake bed (shikham) in survey number 237 has been encroached upon, divided into plots, and sold to the public.

Local residents estimate the current market value of this land to be approximately Rs 10 crore. Villagers have expressed concern that efforts are being made to present this government lake land as private property for sale. Reports indicate that villagers have filed a complaint alleging the involvement of an elected representative from the ruling party in this matter.

Given the government's ongoing efforts to curb encroachments on lakes, drains, and government lands through HYDRAA, these allegations against a ruling party representative have drawn significant attention. Residents are demanding that revenue, irrigation, and municipal officials conduct a comprehensive inquiry into the land under survey number 237. They are calling for an examination of government records, Full Tank Level (FTL), and buffer zone limits to verify the status of the land. Villagers are urging authorities to take action against those responsible if the encroachments are confirmed and to protect the government land from illegal sales.
